History – In the world of bourbon, there are countless distilleries, each with its own story and ethos. But few can boast a narrative as rich and profound as Four Branches Bourbon. Born out of a deep-rooted camaraderie among four veterans, this bourbon is more than just a spirit—it’s a tribute to service, sacrifice, and the unbreakable bond of brotherhood.
Founded by Michael (Mike) Trott, Alfredo (Rick) Franco, Robert (RJ) Casey, and Harold Underwood, Four Branches Bourbon is a labor of love, forged in the crucible of military service and shaped by a shared passion for bourbon. These four veterans, hailing from different branches of the U.S. armed forces, came together with a singular vision: to craft a bourbon that not only embodies their values but also honors the legacy of those who have served.
Each element of Four Branches Bourbon is steeped in symbolism and meaning, reflective of the founders’ military backgrounds. The logo itself pays homage to the various branches of the armed forces, with distinct imagery representing the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Army. This symbolism serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by servicemen and women across the globe.
But Four Branches Bourbon is more than just a symbol—it’s a commitment to quality and authenticity that runs deep. From the careful selection of ingredients to the meticulous crafting process, every aspect of production is infused with the same dedication and precision that characterized the founders’ military service. Small-batch bourbons are sourced and crafted with a keen eye for detail, resulting in a product that not only delights the palate but also resonates with a sense of pride and tradition.
Beyond the bottle, Four Branches Bourbon is also a force for good in the veteran community. Through partnerships with veteran causes and organizations, the company strives to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who have served. From supporting veterans’ families to honoring first responders, Four Branches Bourbon is committed to giving back and paying it forward.
At the helm of this endeavor are Mike, Rick, RJ, and Harold—four veterans whose combined experiences span the globe and whose dedication to service knows no bounds. Whether it’s Mike’s leadership and vision, Rick’s legal acumen and attention to detail, RJ’s expertise in special operations, or Harold’s unwavering commitment to community, each member of the Four Branches team brings a unique perspective and skill set to the table.
In the end, Four Branches Bourbon is more than just a bourbon—it’s a testament to the power of brotherhood, the pursuit of excellence, and the enduring legacy of those who have served. With every sip, drinkers are invited to raise a glass in honor of our nation’s veterans and to celebrate the bonds that unite us all. Cheers to Four Branches Bourbon—where quality meets tradition, and brotherhood knows no bounds. Let’s dig in!
Value – I feel that they sell this at a very high premium but it’s understandable the uniqueness that was put into this. At $88 I think it should be sold for a little cheaper.
Appearance – Every aspect of their logo has meaning behind it. From their website: “US AIR FORCE – Represented by the large sweeping vertical mark stretching to the sky. Supports all branches with significant air superiority. US NAVY – The vertical portion of our symbol represents a submarine sail or ship’s mast or as they maintain our freedom and security on the seas. US ARMY – The base foundation mark represents the first branch of the military upon which all other branches and services are built. US MARINE CORPS – The leanest branch of the services, but their infantry is the backbone of amphibious warfare capabilities. They are often represented by the sword and bayonet.” – www.fourbranches.com
Nose – Very light to the point that I am not sure what I am smelling here. I get light notes of corn, lavender and strawberries. Things are definitely going to be more on the fruity side.
Palate – Light again but with a lot of sweetness this time. Light notes of Brown Sugar, Cherry and Sugar Cookie.
Finish – This is not lingering but provides you a soft touch to the tongue and holds only for a short period of time. There is an aftertaste of that Brown Sugar that lasts for a period of time and leaves a final flavor of Strawberry Shortcake to keep you company.
Summary – Four Branches Bourbon embodies a poignant tribute to brotherhood, crafted by four military veterans whose shared experiences infuse every aspect of this exceptional spirit. Symbolized by its logo representing the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Army, the bourbon reflects a commitment to excellence and authenticity. While priced at a premium, its craftsmanship justifies the cost, though some may find it slightly high. With a light and fruity aroma, sweet notes of brown sugar, cherry, and sugar cookie on the palate, and a short-lived yet memorable finish of brown sugar and strawberry shortcake, Four Branches Bourbon offers a delightful tasting experience. Beyond its flavor, the bourbon serves as a beacon of support for the veteran community, engaging in charitable endeavors to make a positive impact on veterans’ lives. Great marketing and great idea behind a honorable veteran brand!
