History – At ASW Distillery, their story sings of a timeless pursuit of exploration and ingenuity. It commences with the whispered legends of our predecessors – Searlas Tompson, Jacques Chastain, and Justin Wingo – whose legacies traversed continents and epochs. From the mist-kissed shores of Ireland to the sun-soaked vineyards of France and the rugged terrains of England, their voyages laid the foundation for their own adventure, infusing it with a profound sense of lineage and daring.
In the vibrant corridors of the University of Georgia, bonds blossomed and aspirations found fertile ground. Jim Chasteen and myself, Charlie Thompson, were drawn together by a mutual ardor for whiskey and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Thus, American Spirit Whiskey came into being – a homage to our shared vision and steadfast devotion to artistry.
Yet, their narrative unfolded not in solitude. Serendipity intervened when we crossed paths with Justin Manglitz, a kindred UGA alumnus whose fervor for brewing and innovation mirrored our own. Together, they embarked on a voyage to redefine the parameters of distillation, melding ancient customs with avant-garde methodologies to birth spirits that are as timeless as they are inventive.
The flagship bourbon of our enduring collaboration with the Atlanta Braves, the concept initially germinated when the Braves’ brass hand picked their own ASW private cask. We expanded upon that notion to craft a series of releases – this being the most widely distributed.
Today, as Trailblazers of the Southern Pot-Still tradition, they stand at the vanguard of a nascent epoch in the realm of spirits. With each bottle they produce, they pay homage to yesteryears while boldly carving pathways into tomorrow. In every meticulously distilled droplet, one can discern echoes of their progenitors’ odysseys, seamlessly interwoven into the tapestry of our contemporary pursuit of perfection. Lets dig in!

Summary – The flagship bourbon, a collaboration with the Atlanta Braves, embodies their ethos, blending ancient customs with avant-garde methodologies to craft spirits that honor the past while pushing the boundaries of the future. Fiddler’s allure extends beyond its captivating appearance, boasting an Atlanta Braves-colored label adorned with a fiddle—a tribute to Southern roots and storytelling. From its enticing nose of fresh pancakes to its palate rich with chocolate and honey, each sip is a journey through flavor.
